Here are a few basic roof types. Usually we are involved in a mix of these types, matching in to an existing to form a new extension or providing a new lift on an existing property.

Truss types.

(definition: a structure comprising one or more triangular units constructed with straight members whose ends are connected at joints referred to as nodes).
